Why Edge of Spider Verse 2 Land Variant is in the Goldin Comic Book Hall of Fame

The world of comic books has become rather complicated.

Visible minorities in spandex? A non-binary Binary? A female Thor?

And yet, somehow, the idea of is-she-isn’t-she doesn’t apply to fan favourite Gwen Stacy.

Not content with being dead and not-dead, especially in Mexico, Gwen becomes the new Spider-Woman in this 2014 issue.

The reason we’ve chosen the Greg Land variant over the regular issue is, this is the first break-out variant comic.

Sure, the super-rare Amazing Spider-Man #667 Del’Otto variant is worth more — much more. But Edge #2 was the first variant to sell for more than $3,000.

What’s not to love about Gwen in a super suit? Not even peak Kim Bassinger could improve on that.

Does anybody have Kim’s number?

Some of the recent sales of the Edge of Spider Verse 2 Land variant have shown how much the froth has come off the top of the speculator market.

The 9.8 sale of $5,000 seems pretty low. Price compression has been pretty extreme, with all grades quite close in price below 9.6.

Don't be THAT person, the one who pays $2k for a 7.5 copy of a mid-2010s book. That's ludicrous.
