More About Mike Kowalske's Comic Book Collection

Mike Kowalske stated collecting books as a kid during the 1980s. Like many younger collectors, Mike lost interest for a period of his adult life, before a chance encounter with the Justice series by Alex Ross reignited his passion for collecting comic books.

Mike got into the habit of buying comics every Wednesday at his LCS, House of Heroes.

Mike's collection of signed books began in 2016, when eBay listings allowed him to get books signed by none other than Stan "the Man" Lee. Mike organized a private signing with Stan. This encounter prompted him to learn more about the hobby and set up more signings, with famous artists such as Neal Adams and Rob Liefeld. Spending time with these industry heavyweights inspired Mike to get involved with organizing signing events.

The first was for the cast of Justice League, and later with Stan Lee, Chris Evans, Tom Holland, Anthony Mackie, and Sebastian Stan.

Mike's collection not totals over 2,700 graded books and 35,000 raw books and is being exclusively brought to market by Goldin, including a portion of the collection being featured on the second season of the Netflix show King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch.
